In 2019, Grieg Seafood applied for the relocation of a farm site in Finnmark because of the risk there would be a landslide in the area. Earlier this week, the site was hit by an avalanche.

Norway's Troms and Finnmark county municipalities granted permission for the relocation of the site in February 2020, but the company, after discussions with the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, was told to delay the move until after the current generation of fish was harvested.
