Denmark-based feed company Aller Aqua has acquired Danish trout producer and processor Danforel.

The acquisition extends Aller's footprint further across the full value chain, from feed to farming to processing.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Established in 1939, Danforel has six aquaculture facilities around Denmark's Jutland region and produces 4,000 metric tons of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)-certified trout annually.

Danforel's 15,000-square-meter smoking facility in Grinsted, Denmark, has the capacity to produce 120,000 consumer packs daily.
