The Scottish seafood industry is warning of lasting damage from Brexit as overseas customers look elsewhere for supplies amid delayed deliveries and cancelled orders and other bureaucratic logjams.

Previously, seafood shipments took 22 hours to get to market. But since Jan. 1, when the UK began trading as a "third country" outside of EU rules, the time it takes to get product to market has been averaging between 28 - 39 hours, Seafood Scotland Chief Executive Donna Fordyce noted.
