Cooke Aquaculture has been told to remove all nets being used to recapture escaped farm salmon in Hermitage Bay after a humpback whale became entangled in one on Tuesday morning, CBC reports.
The order came after a humpback whale became entangled in a gillnet set by Cooke Aquaculture to recapture salmon that recently escaped from the farm in the Hermitage Bay area, a spokesperson with Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) Canada told the CBC.
