Norwegian land-based salmon producer Andfjord Salmon is postponing its first stocking to 2021 over COVID-19 related construction complications, CEO Martin Rasmussen announced in a statement.

However, the shift will not have any financial impact on the company, he said. The main reason for postponing is to give the fish the most optimal living conditions.

The original plan was to release its first smolt in fall 2020, however, water temperatures won't be optimal.

The company has also accelerated plans for phase-two development at Kvalnes and phase-three at Fiskenes and Breivik.
