Troubled Chilean salmon producer Nova Austral is raising production guidance for 2020 to between 18,000 and 20,000 metric tons, a company spokesperson told IntraFish.

The figure is higher than the previous guidance for harvest volumes of 15,000 to 20,000 metric tons, a figure issued in early September.

The development comes as Chile’s Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca) authorizes the company to release just under 970,000 salmon into cages.
