Chilean shipments of salmon and trout to Russia fell 46 percent in the first quarter of 2022 amid fallout from the Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin's forces.

Exports to the country came in at 8,214 metric tons, compared with 15,119 metric tons in the same period a year earlier, according official customs numbers provided by the Chilean Salmon Council, which represents 52 percent of the South American nation's production.
