Chile’s National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) has placed the nations' salmon farmers on alert amid increased volcanic activity in the area around the Hudson volcano, located in the Aysen Region.

Sernapesca published a report pre-alerting salmon farmers last week, which said that due to the increase in activity of the Hudson volcano in the Aysen Region, which could increase over the next few days or weeks, "it is considered necessary to adopt preventive measures in the presence of mortality and escape".
