Chilean salmon farmer Salmones Antartica is in hot water with Chilean regulatory body Sernapesca, after the agency found excessively high mortalities in three of its centers in the Chonchi, Log Lagos region, reported El Mostrador.

Sernapesca issued the report on Jan. 23 to the Superintendency of the Environment.

The agency later said there was a "clear deficiency in procedures" for decaying mortality inside the netpens.

The salmon farmer is instructed to act immediately by disposing of the mortalities.

Within seven business days, the company is expected to submit a reports of the withdrawals.
