Mitsubishi-owned Cermaq plans to engage lawmakers, First Nations tribes and citizens in a six-month feasibility study that will look at how it can expand into Nova Scotia in the coming years.

"The provincial government has granted us an option to lease, which gives us a period of six months to conduct this work," David Kiemele, Cermaq Canada's managing director, told IntraFish. "This is a greenfield site project where we have no existing infrastructure to build on. This is not an acquisition, this is starting from scratch."
