Cermaq will receive just four development licenses for its iFarm concept, despite initially asking for 10, Norway's Directorate of Fisheries has ruled for a second time.

Cermaq contested the decision with both the Directorate and the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries, both of which reached the same conclusion.

With iFarm, Cermaq wants to develop a technology with image recognition in a sorting chamber in the salmon cage. This will make it possible to provide adapted health monitoring to each individual fish in the pen.
