Cermaq Canada employee dies on site

Salmon giant Cermaq Canada lost one of its employees on the salmon farming site located off the west coast of Vancouver Island on Monday.

The company did not disclose information on the employee who passed away, "out of respect for the family and the employees involved," the company wrote in a statement.

The Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia (WorkSafeBC) said in a statement that it was notified Sunday about a serious boating incident in the Tofino area, reported CTV
