Bill Williams, chairman and CEO and co-founder of fledgling Texas land-based shrimp farmer NaturalShrimp, resigned Aug. 15, a week after the company was placed under quarantine by state officials after the viral shrimp disease Infectious Hypodermal and Haematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV) was discovered at its facility in La Coste, Texas.

Williams, a co-founder of the company with Gerald Easterling and Tom Untermeyer, has been with NaturalShrimp for 18 years.

The company said Williams departure "was not the result of any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices."
