Canadian Fisheries Minister Keith Colwell said Thursday refuted fishermens' claims of damage at Cooke's salmon net pens off the coast of Nova Scotia, according to CBC news.

"There's no significant damage," he said, according to the news site. "A couple of the cages were damaged. No fish escaped." A lobster fisherman said recently he saw 17 of the 20 net pens with damage.

However, Colwell said his department's site visits verified everything was in regulation and Cooke staff were cooperative, according to the news site.
