Speaking at the IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum in London the first week of September, Camanchaca CEO Ricardo Garcia laid out his company’s strategy for growth, which is now focused on a boost in salmon production at a time when growth restrictions limit most Chilean salmon farming companies.

Camanchaca plans to increase its Atlantic salmon production 48 percent by 2019, reaching a total of 54,000 metric tons, up from the 34,000 metric tons it will farm this year.

All this will be done despite new regulations punishing aggressive growth and poor biological performance.
