Brazilian tilapia production is expected to reach a record 450,000 metric tons this year, a 12.4 percent increase over 2018.
Growth is being driven by a government plan to promote a culture of exports through tax incentives, improvements in production competitiveness and in exchange rates, Francisco Medeiros, CEO of Brazil's aquaculture trade body, Peixe BR, told IntraFish.
