Better genetics, better feed and micro-financing are driving growth in the Brazilian shrimp industry, said respondents to the Global Aquaculture Alliance's (GAA) annual production survey.

One problem or another has held back, and at times reversed, development of the Brazilian shrimp industry over the past couple of decades.

Growth in 2019 running to 33 percent is expected to be followed by another 9 percent leap this year, leading to more bullish predictions for 2021 of more than 15 percent.
