Brazilian tilapia producers are forecasting another double-digit increase in production in 2021, driven by a growing domestic market in Brazil.

"We don't see growth below 10 percent at least for the medium term," Francisco Medeiros, president of aquaculture producers trade group Peixe BR, told IntraFish.

This comes after tilapia production rose 12.5 percent to 486,155 metric tons in 2020.

Growth was helped by producers placing more fish in cages at the start of last year, amid higher prices at the end of 2019.
