A body has been pulled from the waters of AquaChile's Estero Pangal site in the southern Aysen region of the country following stormy weather last week, coastal authorities and the company confirmed.

It followed the sinking of a motor boat named the Matias Ignacio.

During the afternoon of May 19 Aquachile informed Puerto Cisnes port authorities of the sighting of a life raft carrying two crew and four passengers.

A body later identified as a missing passenger from the craft, the seventh member of the party, was discovered at the site that same afternoon with the help of an AquaChile remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV).
