Danish feed giant BioMar signed an agreement with Chinese trout farmer Mize Long Yang Xia to supply fish feed that provides half the environmental footprint compared to the local feed in China.
BioMar has been collaborating with the Chinese company for over two years through on-site trials and monitoring to develop feed with the optimal nutritional profile that has a reduced impact on the local ecosystem.
Aquaculture feed is traditionally responsible for up to 80 percent of the environmental impact of raising fish.
