Chilean seafood giant Pesquera Camanchaca posted a more than fivefold increase in first quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to $10.7 million (€10 million), helped by record salmon prices.

Results were also lifted by higher mackerel catches and higher prices than in the opening quarter of 2021.

This week, Camanchaca opened its new $30 million (€28 million) plant in Coronel in central Chile.
