Faroese salmon producer Bakkafrost increased its overall harvest volumes 17 percent in the first quarter of this year to 21,000 metric tons across all its operations in the Faroe Islands and Scotland.
After experiencing a "challenging" first quarter in 2020, the Faroes operations in particular saw a healthy turnaround.
In total, the group harvested 14,000 metric tons in the Faroe Islands, up 31 percent from the 10,700 metric tons harvested in the same quarter last year.
