Bakkafrost's surprise acquisition of a controlling stake in The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) on the Oslo Stock Exchange Wednesday is a major step for the Faroese firm, giving it a far more diverse portfolio of assets and putting it on the map as a multinational salmon farmer.
CEO Regin Jacobsen told IntraFish that throughout the acquisition process, synergies were clear, as were opportunities to leverage Bakkafrost's strengths into increased earnings for SSC.
