Atlantic Sapphire says the vast majority of salmon from its land-based operation in Miame will go to the US retail sector in the first phase of the company's development.

"It was always the plan because it is easier to differentiate in retail than it is in foodservice, but obviously the COVID situation has made that even more logical," Atlantic Sapphire CEO and Founder Johan Andreassen told IntraFish during a presentation of his company's first half financial results.

The world's largest land-based salmon farmer will start harvesting its first fish at its Bluehouse facilities in Florida next month.
