Atlantic Sapphire: 'We cannot say whether we will rebuild the plant at this stage'

A massive fire broke out Wednesday night at Atlantic Sapphire's land-based facility in Hvide Sand, Denmark.

"The building and both the old and the new pilot plants have burned down. We are left with our smolt department," Atlantic Sapphire General Manager Thue Holm told IntraFish.

“We cannot yet say what we are going to do with the facility going forward," Holm said.

According to local authorities, the fire broke out around 8:30 pm local time on Wednesday. The fire was already well underway when it was first discovered, Holm said.
