Land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire reported another mass mortality event at its facility in Denmark over the weekend, resulting in a loss of hundreds of metric tons of fish.

The company reported the incident in one of its saltwater growout systems on July 9, which wiped out 400 metric tons of head-on, gutted (HOG) fish, the equivalent of 17 percent of the annualized harvest volumes.

The fish would have been harvestable during the last six months of 2021.
