Land-based salmon company Atlantic Sapphire has begun transferring salmon to the grow-out stage of its operation at its Miami farming site.

The development marks a major milestone for Atlantic Sapphire, which is aiming to harvest and sell its first fish in June.

"This is the last stage before harvest," Atlantic Sapphire spokesperson Lola Navarro told IntraFish.

Customers lining up to take receipt of the fish include Sobeys Quebec and IGA stores in Canada, in addition to Wegmans and New Seasons Market in the United States.
