In response to the shortage of oxygen in the US market and its potential negative effects on the operations of Atlantic Sapphire's Miami land-based salmon farm, management of the company have taken precautionary measures to both reduce oxygen consumption and to find alternative supply sources.
Over the last couple of days, Atlantic Sapphire has been able to source additional liquid oxygen deliveries by cooperating with Miami-Dade County to pick up non-medical grade supplies produced at the county's wastewater treatment plants.
