Producing salmon in Brazil is a possibility in the future, but a number of conditions would need be met to get such projects off the ground, one expert says.

It was previously thought that salmon production South America's largest nation was impossible because of the cooler water temperatures needed to raise fish, but the move indoors would appear to be a game changer.

At a Seafood Brasil/Fiesp webinar last week, Atlantic Sapphire Director of Aquaculture Engineering Bruno Sardenberg disagreed with a previous speaker who suggested salmon can't be produced in Brazil.
