US land-based salmon giant Atlantic Sapphire entered into a $5 million(€4.4 million) agreement to double the amount of land it owns at its US operations within the next month.

The acquisition will help the company produce 220,000 metric tons by 2030 and increase vertical integration opportunities, the company said.

Atlantic Sapphire previously reported upping its expected annual harvest volumes in an investor presentation released in May.
