Atlantic Sapphire CEO Johan Andreassen on Wednesday warned rival land-based producer Whole Oceans not to expect an easy ride as it works to get its farm in Bucksport, Maine, off the ground.

Earlier this week Whole Oceans outlined its plans to begin construction work on its recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) Atlantic salmon production facility on the site of the former Verso Paper Mill in 2023.

After three years since it was first announced, construction on the 20,000-metric-ton farm, which has been plagued by delays and management changes, is finally expected to begin.
