Salmon production has begun at Oslo-listed, land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire's facility in Miami, Florida -- a major step in a project that has been years in the making.
"It's an incredible milestone," Atlantic Sapphire CEO Johan Andreassen told IntraFish of the company stocking its first 400,000 eggs Tuesday night at its Miami "Bluehouse" facility.
"It marks the start of salmon farming in Florida," Andreassen said.
