Jurassic Salmon, a land-based farmer of Atlantic salmon, based in Janowo, Poland, is looking to gain further third-party certification after it recently scooped the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) stamp of approval.
The company is currently in the process of obtaining British Retail Consortium (BRC) and International Featured Standards (IFS) certification, Michal Kowalski, deputy production manager at Jurassic, told IntraFish.
Certified salmon is "very desirable for a certain group of customers" and will help the company to gain access to new premium markets and customers, he said.
