Move over, salmon - it's shrimp's turn
This year at AquaVision there was a great focus on shrimp farming genetics, technologies, feeding systems, feed formulations… and very little on salmon.
The reason? A shift of attention from the feed industry towards the shrimp farming sector driven by an immense opportunity, and need, for improvement in all these areas.
While salmon continues to be the main species in terms of volumes for aquaculture feed companies, it is a very advanced industry, while shrimp farming lacks all those improvements that are seen as opportunities for all stakeholders.
