Salmon is just “the tip of the iceberg” when it comes to producing seafood in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), with shrimp in particular set to take up a strong position in the sector, according to Israel-based supplier AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies.

Speaking at IntraFish’s Land-Based Aquaculture event last week, Yoav Dagan, vice president of business development at AquaMaof, said that in addition to salmon, the company was already focusing on a number of other species that will benefit from its RAS technology.
