Norwegian aquaculture equipment supplier Akva Group is reporting greater-than-ever interest from Russian companies for its tech -- despite the strained relations between the two countries.

“But it’s certainly not the only country we’re interested in doing business with,” said Christen Mordal, executive business developer at Akva.

The Russian Embassy in Oslo was the setting for the Russian-Norwegian Business-Forum held Thursday last week. The purpose of the event was to foster economic trade between the two countries.

“We register tremendous interest from Russian companies, and this has increased considerably risen since the sanctions were implemented in August 2014,” said Mordal.
