AquaBounty on Thursday praised the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) new labeling guidelines concerning foods that have been genetically modified or include bioengineered ingredients.

US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced Thursday the department has formalized the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard.

The National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Law, passed by Congress in July of 2016, directed USDA to establish a national mandatory standard for disclosing foods that are or may be bioengineered.
