Anti-salmon farm activist Alexandra Morton has gone to the Vancouver media after allegedly buying a salmon fillet from a Loblaws-owned supermarket with a live sea louse on it, reports CTV News Vancouver.

Morton said she went to Superstore in North Vancouver last Friday to buy a piece of fresh farmed Atlantic salmon for research purposes. She says she was surprised to find a live sea louse attached to the fish.

“It just suggests to me that when they were cleaning the fish, there were so many lice that they were crawling around and one jumped onto the fillet," she said.

In an email statement to CTV News, Loblaws says it has contacted its vendor to discuss quality protocols.
