As a member of the media, we're even more bothered by "fake news" than most. But once real news is out -- especially in the consumer press -- there's not much that can be done to influence how it will be spun.
Such is the case when the news broke Tuesday that the European Commission had opened an investigation into possible collusion between salmon suppliers in "several member states." Though IntraFish only confirmed raids in the United Kingdom and Holland, and so far has only heard Mowi, Grieg and Scottish Sea Farms were involved, the fallout is bad enough.
