Global nutrition company Alltech is teaming up with aquaculture producers and Norwegian research institute Nofima on six research licences for salmon farms where they will perform a series of large-scale experiments testing microalgae and organic minerals.

Entitled EINVU, the project will be trying to simulate what has been achieved in small-scale trials, Elin Kvamme, project manager at Alltech, said.

“In small scale experiments with organic minerals, we see that the mineral deposit in the fish is higher and the fish can better withstand stress.
