Danish fish feed producer Aller Aqua said it will officially open a new factory in Secanj, Serbia, close to the Romanian border in the spring of 2020.

The company’s seventh plant is already up and running. It will be used to target the Balkans region market for carp feed particularly.

Petar Pejcic and Dimitrije Matic will oversee operations at the site, supported by Aller Aqua’s head office.

There are already plans to expand the site. Last week, the company secured export licenses for CEFTA and EU countries.

“We are in a phase of rapid growth, and we are pleased to include Balkan and specifically Serbia in this growth. We see a lot of potential here” CEO and owner of Aller Aqua, Hans Erik Bylling, said.

While Aller Aqua produces feed for more than 30 different species of fish, carp production in Serbia accounts for around 85 percent of the country’s total aquaculture production.
