Unhappy with the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) recently released draft amended Environmental Assessment (EA) that found genetically modified (GM) salmon eggs used by land-based salmon producer AquaBounty pose no danger to the environment, several activists groups are planning coordinated demonstrations on Thursday across the United States.

The FDA is holding a virtual public meeting Thursday where it will be asking if there are "any potential environmental impacts on endangered Atlantic salmon or their critical habit in the United States that were not identified or evaluated" in the draft.
