While farmed salmon prices showed signs of firming over the past week, they’re back on the downward spiral, forcing some companies to sell at a loss or freeze product for a later time.
“There is a lot of pressure on prices,” one exporter said. “It’s been a bad week.”
Prices on average fell around NOK 5 (€0.47/$0.55) from the past week, sources told IntraFish, the result of high volumes of fish on the market.
