As the dreaded COVID-19 virus resurges around the world prompting a crippling second wave of lockdowns, who and how in the seafood industry survive?

The first wave saw retail come out strong, with those reliant on foodservice making fast-paced decisions to try and switch platforms.

Those with multiple production bases beat the logistics lockdown, while those with Chinese market exposure battled to stay on top of COVID-related bad news stories and processing plants struggled to contain outbreaks of illness.

The second wave comes with an already re-shaped global supply chain, and a number of products and species that have shown resilience. It also comes with important changes in frontline worker safety and lessons learned on marketing, provenance and branding.

But the second wave also comes with a raft of new challenges: new consumer perspectives, reduced consumer spending, embattled economies and a potential wave of legal action around worker safety and human rights.

The impacts of these issues and more are discussed in our latest IntraFish podcast. Join Editor-in-Chief Drew Cherry, Executive Editor John Fiorillo and Editor Rachel Mutter by listening below or better yet -- take us with you by subscribing on iTunes, Google Play, Soundcloud or Spotify.
