Another wild week for seafood, but two incidents rose quickly up on the list of industry concerns.

First, the world's single-largest whitefish fishery is facing mounting headwinds as COVID-19 spreads rapidly across multiple facilities and vessels. Multiple facilities in the critical Alaska pollock industry have been hit, most notably Trident Seafoods' Akutan facility, which found the virus had spread to 40 percent of its workforce at the remote plant. Maruha Nichiro and Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui) facilities have also had closures to control the spread.
