As more and more would-be land-based salmon farmers announce new projects and list on the Oslo Stock Exchange, "traditional" netpen salmon farmers are naturally starting to consider the technology to grow their own production, but when exactly they'll jump ship remains unknown.

Right after fourth quarter earnings season, the CEO of the world's largest salmon farming company, Mowi, told IntraFish the company was reconsidering its stance on land-based salmon farming and just days later, Leroy Seafood announced that it too would be pursuing a land-based project.
