Hello folks -- another week overshadowed by the fallout from the war in Ukraine.

As evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops emerges, the West increased its sanctions.

While seafood was technically included on the list of products banned for import by the European Union, one notable missing line item was whitefish.

Russia's cod and pollock are critical for major processors including Nomad Foods, Young's, Frosta and others, so much so that the United Kingdom, after coming on strong with a 35 percent tariff on whitefish imports into the UK, backed off.
