Norwegian spot prices for farmed salmon are continuing their rise, but the upturn is moderate, according to salmon suppliers IntraFish spoke to Friday.

At the end of September, spot prices fell to NOK 40 ($4.35/€3.90) a kilo, which was the lowest level in nearly five years, and down to production costs for some breeders. However, prices have risen in the past few weeks, and the upturn continues this week as well

“There is still little that has been done, so there is no talk of prices, more price expectation, but producers are clear that they want higher prices, and that they will do so, said one buyer.
