Salmon farming companies in Chile had annual sales of nearly $5 billion (€4.4 billion) in 2018.

Agrosuper-owned AquaChile – which now includes salmon farmers Los Fiordos, Salmones Magallanes and Friosur – became Chile's largest salmon company following its blockbuster $850 million (€758 million) deal in 2018.

Based on 2018 sales of the companies that now make up the new group, AquaChile accounts for an estimated $1 billion (€892 million), or 20 percent, of all of Chile’s farmed salmon sales.

And if you add together the sales of the next two largest producers in Chile – Cermaq and Multiexport Foods – the top three producers account for more than 40 percent of all production.
