The US-based Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) is teaming up with standards-setting group NSF International to launch the first-ever plant-based food certification.

Plant-based foods eligible to receive the certification include seafood alternatives, meat, poultry, egg substitutes and dairy alternatives such as plant-based milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and ice cream.

PBFA members Tofurky and Oatly are the first brands to be certified.

This is an exciting step for the fast-growing, innovative plant-based foods industry, and furthers our mission to grow plant-based.
